Who needs a criminal when we have such politician?

It was devastating to know about the Badaun rape case where two girls were brutally raped and hanged from a mango tree. Rapes were never new in India but in the past few years these have taken malignant form. How can a man even think of raping someone? Why is the government failing all the time? Why in many cases policemen are being arrested for their involvement? And who has given these politicians the right to blabber anything and everything? Who are they to put the blame on the victim? When people exercise the right to freedom of speech and expression for a good cause they are often sent to jail by these ministers. But when they make such absurd remarks in media no harm comes to them. Is right to freedom of speech and expression exclusive to power pockets or do we have the privilege of this right

“No one commits rape deliberately. It is committed by deceit.Chhattisgarh’s Home Minister Ramsevak Paikra said. Looks like the Home Minister of Chhattisgarh expects the rapist to call him before committing rape or tell the victim beforehand that he is going to rape her. Should the girl take appointment for getting raped? The question lies here, is he eligible even to be called an educated person? And he is the Home Minister of Chhattisgarh. I feel sorry for the state.

Instead of asking for more security the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Babulal Gaur said “We want women to have sportsman’s life. They should learn judo and karate to counter such incidents.”  Why you want women to take all the counter measures for not getting raped? It is like telling people you mend your ways but I am not going to stop the crime. The crime will continue. If you want to save yourself, you please take your own precautions as we are not responsible for anything that happens to you. Then what good are you doing being Home Minister of the state?

Mulayam Singh Yadav had said, “Should rape cases be punished with hanging? They are boys, they make mistakes.” For Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, rape is a mistake committed by boys. God forbid but if such incident happens with his own family member then I would like to know his reactions over it. Mr. Singh, a crime is never a mistake no matter who commits it.

UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, “These incidents are not happening only in Uttar Pradesh. If you go online, you will find that such cases are reported elsewhere too. Did the national media highlight those incidents?” I don’t know why he is so bothered about the rape cases happening in other states and why is he so indifferent to cases in his own state. He is the chief minister of UP so he is responsible for everything that happens in UP. Instead of taking care of his own state, he is taking solace in the fact that rapes do occur in other parts of the country as well.

I have heard a lot of their absurd remarks on TV and read a lot in newspapers. While they misuse their freedom of speech and expression, I would like my countrymen to put this fundamental right to right use.  I feel sorry that our country has such leaders. And more sorry that we choose to follow them!!

Its NOW or NEVER!!
