The UPA government has finally accepted that the government and its bureaucrats are corrupt. After unravelling of one scam after another, congress and its allies have accepted this bitter truth. Opposing the inclusion of group B and group C officials under the Lokpal, congress said, including these bureaucrats will overburden the Lokpal.
UPA Government Lokpal has no issues monitoring lakhs of NGOs, but feels monitoring Group B, C officials will overburden Lokpal. Ya!! ofcourse it will, because it is none other than bureaucrats who come second to politicians in cases of corruption.
In India we have a top-down model of corruption. Where those at top of the hierarchy get their share of black money collected by lower ranked officials.Minister and high class officers take share of money collected by group C,D class officers, that is why UPA govt. doesn’t want them under Lokpal
Congress very cunningly diverted India’s attention from Janlokpal bill by introducing all the fuss about FDI in Retail. UPA government can discuss proposed FDI policy changes but it is reluctant to talk on Janlokpal Bill. Doesn’t this make their intentions pretty clear !!!
In this case, role of opposition too is not very clean, the way they are all going gaga over FDI opposing government’s every move, why haven’t any one of them supported Janlokpal Bill so strongly ?
Meanwhile, the latest Corruption Perceptions Index released by Transparency International which indicates perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 – 10 has given India a score of 3.1 and ranks it 95 in world. Isn’t it horrible ?
Anyways,Anna Hazare has already booked Ramlila Maidan for his protest starting on Dec 27. Lets us all make this a bigger and stronger protest than the earlier one and get a Janlokpal Bill for a corruption free India.
“Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” Martin Luther King, Jr. We need to fight for our freedom from corruption.
Its NOW or NEVER!!
