You set them a target and the trio of Dilshan, Gayle and Kohli will chase it down! Incredible power packed cricket in last two days. Somerset and New South Wales put a total in excess of 200 and yet the young guns of RCB batters – led by Gayle Force – have chased them down in consecutive matches.
In the first semifinal 7th oct , RCB ensured its berth in Finals of the CLT20 2011, after defeating NSW by a margin of 6 wickets and 9 balls to spare. Gayle as always has been ruthless and brutal. He scored a magnificent 92 off just 41 balls with 8 sixes and an equal number of boundaries.
Earlier, in 1st innings, Warner played a stupendous innings of 123 off 63 deliveries, yet could not help his team reach the finals. Warner has scored two consecutive centuries in T20, he is the lone man to do so in Twenty20 cricket.
All this while the young lad of 22, Virat Kohli, has caught everyone’s imagination. There is no doubt that he is an exceptionally talented batsman. But, the maturity and understanding of the game he has shown in last few matches , makes him outstanding. He certainly has become more responsible and is turning out to be a game-changer. Kohli played an innings of 84 today to help his team reach finals, earlier he had played an equally significant knock of 70 to help his team reach semifinals.
RCB would, of course, carry a lot of confidence and momentum into the finals because of the experience of last two matches they had. MI and Somerset meet on 8th on October for play-off to the finals.
